A lot of junk
I haven’t been very diligent about drawing much, and I’ve been even less diligent about updating this blog with them (as if anyone follows it). But here’s some of the stuff I forgot to post until now:
Doodles
Spontaneous character drawings, two really old characters of mine (top-right), and Mulan, because I just got done re-watching that movie for the first time in a long time.
Made using:SketchBook Pro, Photoshop, and a tablet
----------------------------
Just a few small lame doodles: a couple Link interpretations, and the character on the right is for something a friend is doing.
Made using:SketchBook Pro, Photoshop, and a tablet
----------------------------
Two of my favorite Mario series characters. These two are absolutely hilarious together and I wish they'd get a game (or at least side-by-side roles in one other than a sports game). Waluigi is especially neglected and hated on, but I think he's a really funny character. Everybody cheating but him!
Made using: SketchBook Pro, Flash, and a tablet
----------------------------
A picture of Arrietty for EL, who I saw the movie with when it came out here in the States.
I can't do anything in Photoshop to save my life, seriously. I hate this background. I really need to find some good ideas to start practicing from.
Made using: SketchBook Pro, Flash, and Photoshop
----------------------------
Really rushed doodle of Batman and Robin (more-or-less based on their animated appearances, particularly the Animated Series). Meant as a really late birthday drawing for Gold.
I'm unhappy about how unpolished and lame this looks, but I did sort of blast through it without thinking much. Not my best effort.

Music
Fi's Theme from Zelda: Skyward Sword. Some of it sounds wrong to me, I probably got some of the chords or harmonies wrong. Oh well.
----------------------------
For a game I'm making, when you wander into a neighborhood in the city that's dim and unfamiliar.
----------------------------
Storm Eagle from MegaMan X. I did this from memory, using no reference. I'm usually not nearly good enough to remember songs exact enough to re-create them without reference, but some of these songs got so deep into my brain I can sometimes do it.
----------------------------
Just did it when I was bored. Groose's theme made in the style of the original Zelda overworld (in FL Studio, so it's REALLY technically not 8-bit).
----------------------------
Just messing around with some instruments. This music is played when you get the Master Sword in most Zelda games it's in.
----------------------------
My rendition of the Dawn/Sun's Song from the Zelda series, which usually plays at dawn (and sometimes at will).
----------------------------
Geez. I really need to organize myself.until next time.

Doodles and music
SBP Doodles 11

The top row I just did today, the bottom row is pretty old stuff I just haven't put up yet. Characters that aren't mine I should mention are Kyle Hyde from Hotel dusk in the top-right, and Holly's character Paint in the bottom-left.
Made using: SketchBook Pro and a tablet
-------------------------------------------------------
Darkwing Duck Theme
My rendition of the Darkwing Duck theme song (which may be the coolest cartoon theme song ever).

Some fan music
Animal Crossing (GameCube) Title Screen
My recreation, by ear, of the title screen music from the GameCube version of Animal Crossing. I really love this song, and though I like Wild World's theme too, I think this one is much better. Did you know you can hear the full song if you open the lid of the GameCube right when the title screen appears?
MegaMan 10 Wily Stage Boss Fight RPG (unfinished)
I always thought this music from MegaMan 10 would go well in some kind of JRPG.
Dark World (Genesis/MegaDrive arrangement)
The Dark World from A Link to the Past, but with Genesis-style sounds. Probably isn't even remotely accurate, I just used a soundfont for the synths, so it's not actually playing on any of the proper hardware. But I LOVE the sound of those old-school Genesis games.
K.K. Slider-- My Place (guitar)
"My Place" from Animal Crossing on acoustic guitar (not a real one, soundfont guitars). I like how this song seemed optimistic and sad/reminiscent at the same time. Or maybe it's just me.
Splash Woman
I updated this one with newer soundfonts. Splash Woman's stage theme from MegaMan 9.
Littleroot Town (unfinished)
It's just updated with newer soundfonts. I didn't actually progress any on the song. It's Littleroot Town from Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald.

Some unfinished music
Yeah I haven't been drawing like I should lately.
So here is stuff I've been procrastinating with instead.
Metal Man (unfinished)
Metal Man from MegaMan 2.
For fun, I did all of this so far off the top of my head with no reference.
Quick Man (unfinished)
Quick Man from MegaMan 2.
For fun, I did all of this so far off the top of my head with no reference.
Atop the Fourth Wall Jazz
A sort of jazzy ridiculous version of the theme song from Atop the Fourth Wall, a video series on That Guy with the Glasses
that reviews comics. Sorry, lousy brass, that's what you get for free.
To Cerulean City (unfinished)
The route that leads to Cerulean City in the original Pokemon games.
This is the most nostalgic video game song of all time for me (even though Blue was far from my first game).

Link doodle and Woodring Glade
A couple miscellaneous stuff.
Link Doodles

I'm trying something a little new here.
I've been gradually shifting towards drawing rounder features (such as eyes and noses) for a long time now, so I tried going a little more all-out with it here (particularly the eyes and face shape). It's kind of hit-and-miss but I'll try practicing it.
For a bit of reference of how I drew Link's face previously, there's this comic.
Made using: SketchBook Pro and a tablet.
Paper Zelda-- Woodring Glade
The opening forest area where Link lives in my paper Zelda fan game. I don't really think I successfully captured the atmosphere of either Paper Mario or Zelda, but oh well.

Added a music section
Look at me, pretending I have an audience.
Anyway, I added a section for the music I sometimes make. I'm lousy at music and have absolutely no technical knowledge of it, but whatever. I often just do it for the fun of it and try to recreate/reimagine existing songs, usually from video games, by ear using FL Studio, but I also often do original music for my own personal projects (like animations or games). Those are less likely to show up here until I get said projects finished, though.
You can listen to the music either using the embedded widget from Box.net or the individual links in the nifty shrinkable spoiler tags if the widget doesn't work for you or is otherwise inconvenient.
I may start doing something similar to drawings and other doodles I have, slowly adding some to a page of their own.
Maybe it's time I put this blog to actual use.
Oh, and that Wind Waker comic... yeah, I dunno. I'll do more but who knows when.
