Doodles 16
I've been quiet on the drawing front lately. Been busy and/or unmotivated.
These are a bunch of generic doodles. I've been trying out my Fujitsu tablet PC I got recently (it's really great for sketching!).

Gravity Rush doodle
Kat from Gravity Rush.
There's a ton wrong with this picture and I can't draw legs or arms or hands or anything to save my life. (If anyone has any pointers I'd appreciate it greatly.) Makes it seem more obvious why I usually draw characters with the baggiest and most concealing clothing possible.
Not that I'd draw more characters with this attire either. Because this outfit is pretty stupid. But it was a fun game and a fun character.
I need to start drawing more often or I'll never get any better at this.

Link run cycle
Link from the Wind Waker.
A really quick practice loop. It's really messy and things change proportions and sizes, but I was just messing around for practice. My animation process is horribly inefficient, even for the simplest things, so I need to work on it.

Rhythm Heaven animation loop
DJ School Flash animation loop
A Flash animation made in the style of the DJ School game in Rhythm Heaven (DS). I was GOING to use this as an animated ID on deviantArt, but then I found out that the site doesn't let you use Flash for that, and then I found out that they don't even let you use reasonably-sized GIFs, and THEN I found out they don't let you use animated images at all. So... damn it. That's the entire reason I was doing this.
Oh well.
Here it is anyway.
Here's the specific game it was based on:

Doodles 15
Some miscellaneous doodles. Mostly just random characters that don't have any significance, though there is also fan art in there, in the form of Link from the Wind Waker and Shizune from Katawa Shoujo (top-center and top-right respectively).

Black Spot
Sienna got a Black Spot sent to her by someone she trusted and considered a close friend. She's expectedly broken up about this.
This is usually about the extent to which my cartoons get moody.

Blastronaut
Quick fan art of Rhythm Heaven. This is the Blastronaut from the Shoot-'em-Up game. Thought she'd be fun to draw because of the space motif. I do like Rhythm Heaven's cheery and sharp-looking visual style (though this drawing doesn't look much like it).
I also recreated the music (with liberties) to go along with it.

A truncated rendition of the music for the Shoot-'em-Up game in Rhythm Heaven on DS. It's pretty repetitive but it was catchy. Mine sounds like a mess though.

Kanji Tatsumi
I wanted a pretty lively character to draw, so I drew Kanji from Persona 4. He's quite a character. And he also happens to be the MAN.

Persona 3 doodle
A really quick thing of Persona 3's silent and nameless protagonist.
I think Persona 3 and 4 win the awards for "most unbelievably surprising and uncharacteristic games for me to end up liking".
If you had described them to me on paper there is no way I'd play them. "A grind-heavy randomly-generated dungeoncrawler with dating sim elements that is dripping in Japanese culture with a J-pop-heavy soundtrack." Almost everything I would normally despise in a game.
It's honestly a miracle I like these games as much as I do. I think it helps that the stories and characters are extremely well-thought-out and genuine, and they have such a unique sense of style.
